Hi. Probably a daft question but I'm off to Greece in a few weeks time, and immunity sure what factor suncream to take? I want to tan but not block the sun out completely. Any advice gratefully received

Peak UV in the southern med - you can't block out the rays but you need to try.

Factor 30 in real suncream (not ickle pots), applied every two hours. Shade 11-3. Rash vest and boardies for swimming, then you can stay in the sea as long as you like. No suncream is waterproof, once a day is a lie.

Take a big bottle in hold luggage and restock as needed.

F30 P20 . you could always drop to F20 after 4/5 days.

Its cheapest at savers

Don't forget, you also tan in the shade under an umbrella.

If your skin is not used to the sun it goes even faster, I would go with a high factor and buy more than you think you need. Even waterproof sun cream needs to be re-applied after coming out of the sea/pool. There is not such thing as all-day suncream, sweat, towels and clothes will mean it goes away and it has to be re-applied.

Wear a hat and sunglasses, cover up and stay out of the sun at all during lunchtime.

How fast you burn also depends a lot on your natural skin tone.
