Ipod shuffle docking?

DD really wants an Ipod for her birthday so I we have said she can have a 'shuffle' but somebody told me these don't dock.

I'm not even sure exactly what that even means but know that DD wants one that docks rather than plugs into speakers.

Does anybody know if the shuffle does dock or not???

I have mini speaker with mine, but the sound is a bit tinny.

It's true- it doesn't dock, because it doesn't have the iPod docking connector that all the other iPods have (because it's so small). You can connect it to the computer to put the music on it, but you can't connect it to any of those amp/speaker/alarm clock devices, or at least not in the way you can with the bigger iPods. But you can connect it to most other devices with the minijack cable- it just looks a bit less cool when you do.
