If you have photoshop you can make a contact sheet and as part of that process it makes small copies of each one.

No you can choose the size of the small versions I believe, small, medium or large and medium is about that size I think.

OK
I'll have a look if I have that

I hate EYFS - why else would I be worrying about picture size on a Saturday evening?

You can download a free thirty day trial of Photoshop from www.adobe.com/downloads.

Put all the photos you want to resize into one folder.

Open Photoshop, go to File >> Scripts >> Image Processor. Select your folder of photos, select 'save in same location' (it will give you a new folder within your original folder), tick 'save as jpeg', quality 12. Under 'Resize to Fit' enter the size you want the new photos to be, then click Run.

You'll get your original folder of photos untouched, with a folder within that of resized photos to the size you have selected, which you can then do whatever you like with. Easy - but shout if you need any help!

I'm sure you can do this easily in Irfanview (freeware). I haven't done it for ages but I think you put all your pics into a folder and do a batch resize.
