Photos on I-Pod

My sister in law says there was a thread on here recently about my problem but I can't see it.

I recently lost my hard drive with about six months worth of photographs on it. However, I realised I still have all the pictures on my iPod and wondered if there is anyway to copy them back onto my computer now the hard drive has been replaced. I am scared to update my iPod in case I lose all the pics.
