If so how does this work? Through your phone provider I presume eg. O2, Vodaphone

Do you have to give a reason for wanting it blocked

Can you block mobile and land lines from phoning your mobile?

Do they know they've been blocked from ringing your number or do they just get a general "number onobtainable" sound or message?

Thanks if you can help

No you can't unfortunately. You can only block withheld numbers. You do this through your service provider.

If you are being harrassed over the phone though, the phone companies do have an obligation to change your number free of charge.

i was wondering this earlier as dd2 has got a friend who's constantly texting and she's replying...costing me a fortune in top ups.it's not a friend she sees at all and what she writes is stuff like IM ON THE COMPUTER WOT U DOIN etc.nothing of anything significance.i've told her she can contact her now and again but not constantly.

oh bugger!

I thought you could get a number blocked

Not the sort of harrasment that would warrant a phone companies involvement, will just have to get a new SIM card and start again I guess

Thanks for answering

Cutekids, could they not 'meet' on msn? Obv only at certain times and for certain lengths of time, i.e half an hour after dinner?

Depending on the model of your phone you can block specific numbers from ringing or texting your phone (I can on my phone) but I don't think you mass-block numbers.

What's the make/model of phone?

Sally, its not my phone so I'm not sure of make/model -I'll let them know and they can look into whether theirs does it.

Which bit of the menu would it be in if its an option -settings?

You just download msn instant messanger here and then get your dd to ask her friend for her hotmail email adress or msn address. And add it to your dd's msn contacts.

How old is dd2? I bet she knows how to do it. lol.

Mine is a Samsung and it's in Call History which then gives an option for a Reject List which will automatically reject the call.

You could speak to your service provider, they might be able to help.
