Help, please! The screen on laptop has gone small in squished

Its got to black panels down the side and I can't work out how to get the page to fit the screen

I'm sooo bloody pooter stoopid

I've got it back to full size but now the writing is fuzzy and out of contrast..

What did you do to it to get rid of the black bars?
To set the resolution & text size go to Start - Control Panel - Appearance & Personalization & click on Adjust Screen Resolution. You probably need to set the highest resolution, and you may need to change the text dpi - click on the How do I get the best display link & then on Make the text on your screen larger or smaller.

It seems to hsve done the trick, when I changed resolution.
