Is this possible??? Mobile Phone Query

I wasn't sure where to post this but I am perturbed.

DS2 had some big news to tell Daddy. Using my mobile phone phone book I rang 'Daddy' 'Daddy' appeared on the display whilst ringing.

Phone was answered by female and DS2 was obviously being asked who he was. He kept saying his name and eventually handed phone to me and said 'it's a wrong number'.

I thought possibly it was DS2's elder half brother who hadn't realised so I rang 'DP' again. A female answered. I didn't recognize the voice but again have previously thought DS's half brother was female on the phone. I asked the person who they were and they wouldn't say just asked me who I wanted (perfectly reasonable). I said 'DP' (obviously using his real name ). She said this isn't 'DP'. I said but I rang 'DP's phone' and she said well this isn't DP's phone.

I rang a third time and DP picked up. I told him what had happended and his first comment was 'this was on my landline?'. I said, no his mobile. He then said 'oh it must be a computer glitch.'

Now it that possible??? Can a mobile phone misconnect?? Or is he up to no good???

I'm not sure to be honest but if it says its your dp's phone it must be then,,,,,,,,but if it is something untoward would he be daft enough to let someone else answer his phone??

I think the woman would have said something like 'He's not here' or 'I'll get him' if she had known who he was.

Try it again at the same time tomorrow. Dp might have re-routed all calls because he knew he'd be in a meeting or something and has never reset it.

Or he could be a good liar.

Good luck!

lj.Yes that is what I was thinking. However I was thinking that DP may have been away from his phone and (if he is up to no good) the OW has picked up his phone to put the cat amongst the pigeons???

Having said that. Even if that were the case and DP was aware that had happened he wouldn't have answered the third time (he can't cope with confrontation) he'd have rung me hours later and claimed he'd misplacced his phone at the material time and it was some random stranger who'd answered. he didn't sound pertrubed or flustered when he answered.

Tee2072: Are you answering with some technical knowledge???

Your phone would display the number which you called, but it could still be possible for the exchange to put you through to a different number, same as can happen with a landline. It's rare but not impossible.
