It's an old one of my dads

It has a wireless card, apparently I need my routers ip address.....so how do I find that out?

Have you already got a computer set up to access your network?

On a computer set up for you network, press the windows key and R. Or go to the Start Menu and select run.

In the run box, type cmd and press enter.

In the black window that comes up, type ipconfig and press enter.

It'll come up with all sorts of gumph. Look for a line that says Default Gateway. It'll probably have the address 192.168.1.1. That's your router address.

Does that help?

ok - when you type ipconfig on the computer that you're trying to network, what ip addresses does it give?
