Saving CD's to PC - will I crash my computer?

DH bought me an ipod recently and I have beenn busy uploading all my CD's via i-tunes to the PC so I can put them on the ipod. So far so good. Just worried though about storing all this on my fairly elderly PC - will I crash it? I tried moving the files in the "my music" folder to a separate hard disc drive I use for back ups but doing this seemed to upset the ipod and it refused to synch. Any ideas oh wise ones? I guess I am just thinking that this all takes a while and if I had to do it again it would be a right pain in the proverbial.

I have just been told that you need to increase your memory.
You can do that by buying an external hard drive.

in My Computer right click the C: drive and select properties from the menu. You should now see Used Space and Free Space. Ignore the long numbers for now and look to the right where it should say something like 5 GB free or some such number. Post how much used and how much free.

You won't crash it by having lots of files on it, but you do need to leave a certain amount of space on the C: drive for Windows to use for itself.

Hi used space 23G free space 123G - does that sound ok? Juicy I do have an external drive but the ipod did not seem to like it when I tried to store my files there instead of in My Documents. It kept saying the files could not be found.

That's loads of space so you will be fine for ages. Just to give you an idea 1gb holds something like 300 music tracks and you have 123gb spare.
