Can anyone tell me what kind of security to get. Mine has just run out and I can't remember what I got last time.

Am totally confused as there are so many types. I used Mcafee the last time and it's my anti-spam and something else(!) that is showing it is vunerable-or something.

Sorry-am totally useless with computers-help!

avg is ok and free. you have to register but it is free to home users.

I prefer avast though as it is nice an simple (and they've ut NO effort into the design! great. dh says it's more effective than avg too. also free to home users.

oh, and just get antivirus, not web security, as it tends to cause problems and is unneccessary. I've not tried mcaffee anti spam though you might want to pay just to get that again as it doesn't come with avg or avast. you will not be vulnerable without it though . just possibly peed off.

No one has mentioned firewalls (zonealarm or comodo) or anti-spyware (spybot s&d) in addition to the anti-virus. All free for home use.
