That's it really!

DH introduced me to WoW and loved that until a bit of a guild fallout which has soured it for me...

He got WAR as he paints the little men (all wild round chukky's house) but it's not doing it for me.

Currently downloading a trial of Everquest 2 so will see about that.

What's your recommendation? I know there are some serious gamers out there on MN...

Incidentally before WoW my previous fave game was jetset willy - does that age me???!

just noticed you're of similar vintage to me everyone on Nos seems to be about 15...doesnt half make one feel ancient!

Manic miner was fab! My mum says that hearing that tune coming out of my bedroom for hours and days on end drove her up the wall!

Knickknack if you do get WoW I'd recommend starting as a night elf. It was the best character I started, as a new area and race it benefitted from the experience of the older areas. i think they're doing a new expansion pack soon with a new race so that would probably be the best written so far.

Nos looks interesting - and free! - defo going to drag DH away from his little men to take a look. It has to be an online game so we can run around together - who said romance was dead!!

thanks, I'll keep that in mind. not sure if I'll actually like WOW, I think the only reason I would d/l it is because so many people rave about it.

oohhhh is WOW free or not??? huge deciding factor!

Nos has great running around potential! lots of opportunity to team up and swop stuff etc.

You can play Manic miner on the web.

I posted a link a year or two ago.....

WoW costs - to the tune of about nine quid a month - when I write that down it seems ridiculous! You can stop it/buy shorter times and in dormant periods they keep all your characters - so you can take a break for a year or two and pick up where you left off.

Still it's a lot of money. DH has conditioned me...!!

Manic Miner

Drac I had a go at manic miner a few years back - it's just not the same .

Prob a combination of games being so much better now, and me not being inclined to spend 14 hours trying to jump over an egg any more (eugene's lair was as far as I got as a girl!!).

Is that the one with teh loo potterig along teh bottom?

The most frustrating thing is that you have to go right back to teh beginning when you lost all your lives....level 1 becomes very droll by the 12th attempt

Yes the icicle has thwarted me. Eugene's lair will have to remain a distant memory. And the menagerie. How do I remmeber all this ludicrous nonsense?

A pottering bog sounds familiar. I know that jet set willy started with willy throwing up because he'd overdone it the night before. On a computer game for children! Disgraceful

I have played EQ, EQ2, DAoC, LOTRO and now WoW.

Currently WoW is my favourite by far - what about changing guilds? We're on the Horde side which is lots of fun

I think WoW gets a lot of things right that the older MMORPGS were almost there on. I certainly feel that there's a lot of little niceties and humour in there which help its longevity.
