Try this to check which version of Flash and Shockwave is installed.

I use Firefox 3.0.3, and have Flash 9,0,124,0 installed. No problems.

So should I uninstall Adobe 8 then try to install 9?

I have also updated my Firefox and no solution yet!

Lucycat - have you rebooted once plugin updated?
In Firefox, select Tools, Add-ons, Plugins
Scroll down the list. Do you see Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124?

So it is installed.

Go to that list again and on that entry try clicking Disable.

Then go to the link I gave previously.

For the Flash part it should say Get Flash Player. Don't click the link.

Do: Tools, Add-ons, Plug-ins, and scroll to the Shockwave Flash entry and click Enable.

The Refresh (F5) the page... does it now display Create See About, or still prompt for Flash to be installed?

mumofmonsters - the Shockwave part is different to the Flash part. Most sites seem to use Flash these days, so unless you really need Shockwave specifically, probably best to ignore that. If you do want it, try this installer.

lucycat - so does Youtube now work, or still giving errors?
