Oh god. I'm trying to download Office Word on to the Mac and I'm not having a good time. Can you help?

Can anyone help me?

I seem to have downloaded Office 2008 but it says it can't open in this 'volume' whatever that may be.

So then I go to the test drive Word icon, and that says Word 2004.

So then I click Buy and it takes me to the Office 2008 site.

I actually don't understand what I am doing.

Can anyone help me?

Also - not interesting I know - I don't want it particularly. I'm only doing it so DS2 can do his homework which he has bought back on a memory stick.

This is MY thread.

I am going to talk to myself on it.

Well, it seems to not be a disaster. I have dropped his Word document into Pages, and it opens. Hurrah.

So then I will just have to remember to export it as a word document at the end and save on the memory stick.

Is that right?

I think so.

Yes, you see I tried then to get the free trial. But that seemed to be for Office 2008 and I have convinced myself that I can't have it because of this 'volume' problem.

And I can't find Office 2004, which is what I am convinced I need.

My convictions though are based on nothing other than ignorant stupidity.

Thank you for answering though southeastra.
