Almost every thread I go on has at least one link on it. How is this done? He-e-e-lp.

C'mon clever MNers.
Tell me how to create a link.

MarkStretch Sun 13-Jul-08 20:19:31

two of these [[ followed by your link, then the word you want people to click on, followed by two more ]]

like this

I perfected the old method and have never quite mastered the new one - bizarre as the new method should be easier

I always seem to end up with a massive long line of stuff

Copy the URL you want to link,
then open mn start a post with [[ (then paste copied URL here) then type]] and that should be it.

You can also do it like this \link{paste url here\then type a description}

Hope that helps!

????????????????????????

MarkStretch Sun 13-Jul-08 20:23:30

Where's the 'links you are my nemesis' thread? That had me crying with laughter.

Yurtgirl Sun 13-Jul-08 20:24:50

Im practising...

I like this oven

Phoenix Sun 13-Jul-08 20:24:54

Yurtgirl - Leave a space after the address you're linking then put what you want the link to say eg. this page, then ]] and you won't get a long line

It explains links next to the message box, under the smileys. It's easy

Phoenix Sun 13-Jul-08 20:25:42

Oh i typed too slow you've done it Yurtgirl

WingsofaAngel Sun 13-Jul-08 20:26:58

MarkStretch Sun 13-Jul-08 20:27:22

here

Goober Sun 13-Jul-08 20:28:22

Have I done it?

nobodysfool Sun 13-Jul-08 20:29:44

How about in my language....
Open two windows one for MN and one for the one that you want to add as a link.
Go to the web page you want to add as a link.
Highlight the web address at the top of the screen-do this by clicking the left mouse button once so it turns blue.
Then while still blue do a right click of the mouse and select 'copy'.
Then, go back to mn message box, click in there and do a right click and select 'paste'.
Then add [[ at the begining and ]] at the end.
Does this help?

MarkStretch Sun 13-Jul-08 20:29:53

Yay! Well done Goober!

nobodysfool Sun 13-Jul-08 20:30:39
