A friend got me into this the other day and its very addictive. Does anyone else play it?

Sorry this is an oldish thread, but it is the only one which came up when I searched!

I'm recently addicted and looking for a sitter for my village while I'm on holiday next week.

Are you around/would you be interested?

I can't sit for you sorry as I'm in an alliance and sit for people in there which keeps me very busy. Are you not in an alliance?

I've just started playing, but I'm totally hopeless and have just been badly duffed up so I don't feel I could be any help

I think I'm about to be badly battered, too Oh, well...I am still working out what I'm doing, to be honest, and the only invite to an alliance I've had, when I looked at it, they all had smaller population size than me, and it sounded extra agressive, so I didn't join.

Thanks for replying anyway. I think I'll just have to see what happens when I'm unattended for a week, and try and rebuild when I get back.

Jas, which server are you on? Could maybe see about gettign you an invite into my alliance.

Best advice I can have if you're going away is to build your crannies up high. Think about reducing your warehouse and grannery size. If you can only store limited amounts of goods, less that your cranny capacity then you can't be farmed (apart from by Teutons). If they're not getting resources you'll be left alone. If you're a Gaul build your traps up. Build your wall up. Think defensive when you're starting off.

How do I reduce warehouse and granary size?

I've got crannies at level 10 and almost the same in traps, so at least I am going in the right direction.

Hi, hope this is not too late!

Go to profile.
Click on account.
In account sitter section type in Cheese Head
Click save.

Once that is done he will just need your profile name which he can use to log into your account.

The Travian chat room suggest that you remove him as a sitter after your return.

It's very frustrating isn't it? My dh says that you have to upgrade your cranny to at least level 10 so that when you are attacked you don't loose too much stuff. He woke up this morning to find that loads of his stuff had been trashed....at least it wasn't Jas's village. What tribe are you?

My cranny's only level 4 at the moment, but I can't afford to upgrade it yet. I've just managed to get 3 troops and a 4th on the way, but that's cleaned me out... if I could play at different times of day it would be easier, but I can only get to it in the evenings, by which point I usually find people have attacked and taken most of the resources. I'll make the cranny upgrade my next priority though, then at least I'll have a bit more left when I get to play!

Oh, and I'm a Roman.

Dh says to just persevere with upgrading your cranny, don't bother with much else as you will keep losing it.

I have to say that cranny does sound mildly filthy.

I found spending tiome building troops was a waste of time initially as they were all killed when I was attacked, cranny building ios the way to go to start

AMumInScotland....I sent a message to one village that kept attacking me, asking them not to, and they agreed so it may be worth a quiet request, plus of course making sure there isn't anything to take, so they get bored and give up.

Can anyone tell me more about alliances? What do they give you, and what do they expect in return? Oh, and can you join more than one, or do you have to choose?

Just noticed your question...I've joined an alliance, and it reduces my random attacks from other villages.

It also means I'm getting advice from more experienced players, and protection from some other alliances .

You can only be in one at a time, but you can leave and join a different one.

I'm being attacked daily by a really huge player with three villages, but now I'm in an alliance I at least know how to protect myself more, and hopefully he will stop soon...

Some want you to give resources, but most just want you to stay active.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look at them and see what they want / what they're offering. I'm not getting attacked nearly as much now I've got the cranny situation sorted, but I'm not sire if that's partly just luck!
