Well? IS IT?? Because I want those slippers what I saw.

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:07:55

[examines holes (and bits of stuffing escaping therefrom) in current slippers]

no- not if there's no padlock

fuzzywuzzy Wed 26-Sep-07 21:09:49

take a look on the address bar if it reads https instead of just http it's secure.

what slippers? maybe we can find them elsewhere

80sMum Wed 26-Sep-07 21:13:36

Yes, I think so, but only if the url begins htpps.

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:15:15

If I lock you all in a room, would you be able to come up with some sort of consensus? grin

It does say https. Tis Jones the Bootmaker, so you'd think it would be alright, wouldn't you?

80sMum Wed 26-Sep-07 21:16:26

The "S" stands for "secure" so it should be OK.

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 21:18:05

yes, s on end of http is secure.

what are you on? vista or xp? new fangled ie or earlier?

80sMum Wed 26-Sep-07 21:18:34

I just pretended to buy something from Jones - and I got a padlock symbol at checkout! I wonder why you're not seeing one.

fuzzywuzzy Wed 26-Sep-07 21:18:42

that wot I said...nobody listens to me << walks off wiping nose on sleeve>>

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:21:25

OK, have done it. If my account gets emptied by villains, 80smum, I am coming after YOU.

nappies - these are they

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:22:17

I was listening fuzzy, it's just everyone was contradicting each other and it was making me want to cry.

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 21:28:44

i just grinned, then guffawed... then thought, 'actually.......'

those are really nice aktch.

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:31:58

You see some horrors when slipper-shopping, don't you? And then lovely things for hundreds of pounds.

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 21:45:53

slippers... hard to get excited about them isnt it?
im a barefoot sort of girl meself... esp now the laundry room is linked to the house and i dont have to sprint across cold concrete in december rain to get to my clean undies... grin

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 21:46:13

but even so, those are nice.

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 21:52:51

I would do the barefoot thing, but our floors are always covered with unidentified sticky substances and very sharp bits of broken toys. Dunno who's supposed to be cleaning up around here hmm

(Just read your story about your youngest son on the Verity thread - how absolutely terrifying.)

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 21:57:55

on forst thing - ah. yes, understand completely. we are in new house, toys almost all out in the barn, got a housekeeper for cleaning mode atm. and so floors are not sticky. or riddled with deathtrap toys. but it wont last... (and if money doesnt flow a bit better, we may not have the HK for long sad)

on the second - i know. scary shit. sad

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 22:06:42

New house, barn, housekeeper, laundry room now connected to the mothership... you don't need slippers cos you are being carried around the house in a litter. envygrin

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 22:17:33

pah, the service round here is shocking at times... i had to wipe my own arse the other day shock
can you believe it??

WendyWeber Wed 26-Sep-07 22:25:56

Those are lovely but I hate indoors-only slippers because I always forget and nip outside in them sad

policywonk Wed 26-Sep-07 22:28:05

Ah, well now, Wendy, I wasn't going to take that bit completely literally. Tis a bit like 'Dry Clean Only', no?

NappiesGalore Wed 26-Sep-07 22:41:22

ooh, playing with fire there PW - dare you risk it??

tho, i have been known to drive to london (70odd miles) and the school run and even a supermarket trip in slippers.

you forget dont you?
