Uni laptop on a budget

I'm after a laptop purely for essay writing/ research. But on a tight budget of £300
I have no clue what I'm looking for and just keep being swayed towards the rose gold ones 😂😂

For around £300 you are possibly best off with a Chromebook.

Second hand corporate one. ThinkPad or Toshiba or the like. You will carry it about, it will get battered.
