Lost photos on google photos

I’ve got google photos in my iPhone so that all my photos automatically save onto it. I just clicked on it and it’s completely blank with no photos at all! I’ve tried going on the desktop version and it’s just showing old photos taken on my iPad for some reason, and no photos at all from my phone.

I still have my photos on my iPhone photos as normal, but worried why they’ve all disappeared from google photos. Could I have been hacked?

Might be to do with the breaking of the link between Google Photos & Google Drive? I don't know for definite, I know it's impacting my photo backups but i'm an android user and not iPHone

Yesterday I had a strange message come up on my phone saying that someone was using my FaceTime. I didn’t know what to do about this message, but that’s why I’m worried about hacking. I clicked on a dodgy email thinking it was from Facebook the other day, so wonder if it’s anything to do with this?

Ok. I updated google photos and they seem to have all returned, although I now seem to have all the photos from my iPad included within them.

My problem now is that I can’t access my iPhone at all now using my pass code, I can only use my fingerprint. I’ve got no idea why this is, and I’m very worried that at some point it won’t let me on it just with my fingerprint, and will ask for my passcode too, and then I won’t be able to use my phone. Does anyone have any reason why this may have happened?

The problem is that every now and then the iphone will ask you to verify yr fingerprint by putting in yr passcode. While yr in via yr fingerprint, go to Settings, then yr name at the top, then Password & Security. You will see the option to Change Password. It will ask you to put in yr passcode. See if it will accept the code you think it is, if it does, change the passcode. If it doesnt, perhaps others may have another idear.
Sorry I cant be more helpful.

Widowerbutok - good idea, yes, I should have done that.

I ended up going to the Apple Store where they had to do a factory reboot of my phone. My photos and contacts were safe, but as I hadn’t backed up my phone I lost all my text and WhatsApp conversations which is upsetting.
