iPhone screen repair

Are there any real implications with having a smashed screen repaired by a 3rd party? I've been reading about error 53, but as I understand it, that issue has been resolved?

I need to repair an iPhone SE screen, no authorised repair shops where I live (Limerick - reseller just send it off, no onsite repairs)

Had my iPhone 6+ repaired recently without any issue at all. It was done under insurance and I had to post it for repair via special delivery. The repair was completed very quickly and was back with me within 5 days. I think I had to back up my phone and then turn off the 'find my phone' function under settings before sending it away.

In your circumstances, I'd just make sure the repairer is reputable.

@nutgrabber - Turning off find my phone allows them to log into your phone with a different apple id, not a good thing to do and it is not necessary to replace a screen.

With the cost of screens being so cheap nowadays its easier and simpler to replace them yourself. Just find your model number on ifixit.com and your away. I replace them for friends and family all the time, takes about 20 minutes a screen.

Hey, I've used a company called custom Phone before. They have a post in repair service so saved me a trip into town!
