Anyone else having spam issues with Hotmail?

I have had the same hotmail address for years, usually accessed through Outlook on my phone.

The last few days the spam filters seemed to have stopped working completely and my inbox is flooded with messages that would previously have gone straight to the junk folder. I have been inundated with messages about penis enhancers, Russian brides and phishing scams Hmm I haven't changed any settings.

Anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Yes me too! Tons of them all of a sudden. Kinda glad to know I'm not the only one because hopefully that means it's something hotmail will fix.

yes, and yester I googled and found a suggestion which I tried and it seems to have done the trick. Go into settings and filters and change it from normal filtering to extreme filtering.

Glad I'm not the only one, hope that means it is an issue at their end that they will sort.

Thanks Umlauf will give that a go.

My email count went from double figures to 20,300 within the space of an hour yesterday. I watched it go up on the home screen of my phone. Oddly enough though, there don't appear to be any new emails in my inbox.

I have had a few erectile dysfunction type ones of late though.

Glad I've seen this, I thought I'd inadvertently signed up to something which had passed my email address on.
