Help with iphone 5s dropping WiFi

Long time Android user so not much idea about iphones - gave in to ds as 'everyone has one'.

Have connected easily to the home WiFi but once you leave the room that the router is in the WiFi drops. Even when you're right next to the router it only has 2 bars of WiFi.

All our other devices have a range of about 30m so it's not a problem with the router.

Any ideas? Have Googled WiFi dropping out but nothing seems to work.

When you are out of range (ie the next room) it seems to be constantly looking for a network to connect to.

Is this a known problem?

Frustrating isn't it.

Going to take it to the apple shop this week to see what they say.

Try going to Settings - Mobile Data, scroll to the bottom and turn off Wifi Assist, see if that makes a difference.

I think I've cracked it - took off the phone case and it seems fine. Must have interfered with picking the signal up.
