Don't know if I'm posting in the right place, sorry.
My nearly 9yo DD is getting interested in making "stuff" - sellotape, scissors and paper don't cut it anymore. Birthday's coming up, been looking at LittleBits, but it's a bit out of my price range. I've seen tutorials for making ArtBots with a toy motor, wires, batteries and a switch and it reminds me of stuff we had at school, simple circuits to make lights go on & off, etc. Could I order some bits & bobs off Amazon that she could have a go with? If so, could anyone tell me what kind of things I should be looking for to put together a nice little starter set, like LittleBits? Basically, I want to encourage her to be creative and inventive but I was never really exposed to this kind of stuff, so don't know where to begin...
