Restart your wifi.

Thanks. I've restarted but it's made no difference. I've read it can be caused by the settings in the router but I'm not every technical so not sure how to look at the settings. It's so slow now it's almost unusable

Are you sure the iPad is connected to your router? Do you have BT Open Zone? From memory this means as well as your internal network you also broadcast an open signal for other people to use whilst in the area, which is obviously not as fast / given the same priority as your internal traffic.

Is the iPad doing a whole load of updates? Have you tried turning it off?

It's connected to our WiFi which is password protected. All other devices are fine, it's just the iPad. I've turned it on & off. Software us up to date, rebooted internet/router and no improvement.

If found this https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2398063?start=60 but can't work out what I need to do Confused

Mine does this when it is rammed full of photos or dd downloads some ridiculous app that takes up loads of space. Check how much space you have left

Yes, worth checking for space before you start messing with the router.

Do you have a laptop, or will you need to access the router's admin page from the iPad? (I don't think it really matters, you will need to use a browser, either Safari or another one).

Do you know what the admin password of your router is? How did you set it up originally, or did someone else do it?

Ok, I've deleted a load of stuff to make more space but it's still painfully slow.

DH set the router up & is being completely uninterested in the iPad issue as he's got a laptop so it's not effecting himHmm

Good idea to access the router info via the laptop, struggling to get any done on the iPad.

Have you got anything open in background
Double click the button and all web pages you've been on will be underneath
Just swoosh them up with your thumb to get rid

Might help

It might be necessary for you to unplug the router in order to inspect it and see what make it is, so we can figure out what the default admin password is, BeenAndGone. (Of course it isn't necessary at all, I just think this may help concentrate DH's mind on the problem). It's probably password, have you tried opening a browser (iPad or laptop) and typing in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar?

I got previous post deleted as I'm not sure if I posted identifying details or not.

It's not the videos as I've deleted loads to create more memory but it's made no difference. It's so bloody slow now it's taking forever to load a page. I'll have to go down the router avenue. What an arse ache
