Hudl 2 Power save

Just wanted to pick your brains on how to turn the power save off hudl 2. Was running low on battery power so it flashed up about putting on power save, so I did. Set it to when it gets to 10% battery, I think. Went back to using the hudl and it had turned off my wifi and other bits and bobs so was bit annoying. Just want to turn power save back to off now as seems more hassle having it on. But can't find anything about power save anywhere in the settings or am i missing something? Anyone know where the power save settings are?? Many thanks Smile

The power save settings should reset the next time you restart the hudl. You can save power by turning of Bluetooth, and either turning GPS off either completely or while the hudl sleeps

Great help thanks. Thought it would keep happening when I reached 10% battery! At least I can stop searching through the settings now thenGrin

The hudl reached 10% this morning and did actually automatically go into power save again, switching off wi fi etc. Luckily though, it made a notification in the upper left pull down menu. By clicking on this I managed to muddle through and disable power save, its where the download notifications appear. However last time I somehow made the notification disappear and was stuck. But for anyone in the same situation it sends notifications to the drop down menu each time it goes into power save and it can be disabled from there.

Classic Grin Just received a reply from Tesco tech support and it says:

'Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Regrettably you can't turn the power save off as this is part of the android operating system to warn you the battery needs charging'.

Lol, I don't think they know what there own power save setting is. Atleast I have managed to turn it off now and it can be done, they are obviously not up on their own features. Hmm

After informing tesco tech team about what I finally managed to do to deactivate power save, they have informed me that their initial response was actually correct as there is not a default power save on the hudl 2. They stated it must be something I have downloaded [blus? It is really strange as I have not downloaded much at all and my daughter insists she has it on her hudl too. Just felt I should update as totally miffed now....

I've a hudl 2 and I've never noticed WiFi cutting out when battery is low.
It's on 12% now so I'll watch it...

Mine came up with an option to set power save when it was low on power. Which I did. It was only after doing this that it then started to turn the wi fi off at 10% battery.
Be interesting to know if I am not the only one or whether it has indeed downloaded a setting from elsewhere?

That is very strange. I don't have a hudl2 but it isn't part of android, because I have two android phones and a tablet and you can turn off power saving on all of them. One is a nexus so stock android. Power saving turns on at 15% battery and a notification comes up with an option to turn it off.

Right. Mine got down to 9% and WiFi stayed on.
No mention of power save

I have sinced solved the problem. Tesco tech were right and it was actually downloaded onto my hudl. It appears to have come with the free AGV Antivirus software, unknown to me! I can now find all the settings via AGV app on home screen! My daughter has the same AGV software so that is why she had it too. I can also stop the wireless going off if I change the settings of power save so not really a problem now I know where to find it and what it is.

Power saver is called Battery saver on Hudl2. I changed it to come on at 5% but realised this was a mistake and wanted to change. Looked everywhere as i had used it in notuficstion bar b4, then found it in 'Settings' under 'Battery' select the menu icon, top right of screen. Here you can select Battery Saver to either 'never' come on or come on with 5 or 15% battery remaining. Hope this helps
