Can you take an iPad back if you've opened/used it?

I think (but am not 100%) that if you bought it from Apple they will take it back but will charge you a percentage of the price as a restocking fee as the box is open.

You can't usually take personal computers back if you've turned them on and set them up.

He could always give it to you and then go and spend more of his own money if he just wants to 'change' it. Honestly, a mini will do the same thing as an air, they're both iPads.
