Nexus 4 keeps crashing, even after factory reset

My Google nexus 4 is almost exactly a year old. I love it. But recently it has started turning itself off. Well actually what seems to happen is it crashes, battery suddenly drains to 0% and it obviously turns off.

The only way to resolve is to plug into charger and press power and volume down button to turn on. It then shows as no power (even if before there was 80%)

I can't see any link with any particular apps. Yesterday was camera, today chrome (mumsnet!).

I dropped it on boxing day without cover in and cracked screen. I had it fixed through house insurance. Could this be linked?

It is possible the shock has damaged the battery so that it no longer retains charge properly. If that is the problem you will have to replace the battery. Replacements are available online for around £15-£20.

Have you tried a factory reset.
how to change the battery, however reading that I think I would rather pay someone to do it.
