Netbook/laptop for £300 ish?

I'm looking for something small/cheap for ds's birthday (he'll be 10)

I've seen an 11 inch Asus in Currys that looked nice but it only had a small memory.

Is there anything else on the market for that sort of money?

He already has a nexus for playing games etc.
But he'll need something for doing his homework on when he starts high school.

Wow. I bought an Acer Aspire V5 last year- it's great- but that one, with the touch screen, is seriously good value. And less than half the price of a MacBook Air
