Lost my Samsung Galaxy s2 and need to retrieve my contacts - how?

I put this in chat but had no luck. I lost my Samsung Galaxy s2 today. Quite often, my phone would say that my contacts had been backed up but how do I retrieve them? Haven't got a clue and don't think I ever used the Kies Samsung software.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get my numbers back. Please help - total nightmare without my phone (sad or what!) - thanks.

Do you have a gmail account? my contacts are automatically saved to there.

Alternatively, which network are you with? I'm with EE, which does a 'clone phone' thing which saves your contacts for you, t-mobile do a similar thing, and I would guess Orange too. Don't know about virgin/vodafone/o2.

If you signed up for a Samsung account, you might be able to use the 'findmyphone' tracker to find it?
Kies is terrible, I didn't think there was anything worse to use than itunes, but I was wrong!

Go to www.google.com/contacts Sign in using your google account and see if your contacts are there.

If they are then they will be downloaded to your new phone assuming it's also Android. If not you can export them to a CSV and import somehow.
