Help! [weeps] How to get rid of playtopus

I really really don't have time for this today.

Anyone had this?

Would you trust this video to get rid of it for me?

Playtopus says that you can uninstall at anytime... Playtopus.com/deactivate/

It appears to be adware, rather than a virus. So the producers of the software (I think you are shown adverts and in return get to use games they provide) have uninstall as an option.

Try that first. Then try running MalwareBytes (free version) to clean up your system of adware.

When I googled it kept saying about pop ups. I've not had them, I've had words underlined that lead to ads.

Thanks for replying.

There was all this stuff saying uninstalling doesn't work properly and that you can do it through the registry but you could get that wrong and as I'm on a deadline I can't afford to have my laptop pack up.

I uninstalled in the meantime and it seems to have stopped it for now. After Tuesday if it comes back I'll look into deactivating.

I've no idea how it got on here. Angry
