how do I listen to kindle audio books on my Nexus 7?

When I download audio books from Amazon onto my Nexus 7 kindle app, the text comes up, but how can I get the audio bit to work? I must be missing something really obvious, but for the life of me can't see it.

The Kindle app doesn't do the text to speech that some of the Kindle devices do. Which version are you buying from Amazon, the Kindle version or the audiobook?
