...well, DH is, for both of us.

Anyhoo, my main use will be word processing. Does anyone know if the Air comes with a word processing programme installed, or if not, which programme would you recommend?

Many thanks

Seriously .. you're buying a Mac to do Word Processing? You know there are somewhat cheaper alternatives on the market? (And I say this as a complete Mac addict myself).

Macs do not come bundled with Office software. The native application equivalent is called Pages.

You can also buy MS Office for the Mac, which works fine, or make use of tools like Google docs in a browser depending on the level of complexity you need in the documents.

We have just ordered a MacBook Air and have paid a small amount extra to have iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) preinstalled. We moved to an iMac earlier this year and, after a frustrating couple of weeks while I found my way around, I am now completely converted! I had to go to a client site the other day and used one of their PCs and really struggled. I have found Pages much easier to use than Word for the type of stuff I do for work.
