BT vision box - can record but not play back . . .

Have recently bought into BT vision as they were doing a special offer on Sky Sports, which is all we want to watch.

All has worked well so far, in terms of viewing - I know that there are MNetters who have had awful issues with BT - and we have managed to record a few programmes, but can't get it to play back. We have followed all of the instructions but just get a blank screen.

Any ideas, oh wise Mnetters, before we try the supposedly awful helpdesks!

We had the same problem with our BT vision box when it first arrived. Now I am trying to remember what the hell we did!

I remember we had issues as I called an advisor who told me it 'wasn't possible' not to be able to record. I did some tests and proved myself right. I called them up again and got quite stroppy and in the end it was all sorted. Now I can't remember if they actually sent me a new box, I don't think so I think I just got someone who was quite helpful. It took some time as we had to do some tests, I remember we recorded some stuff and he called back 30 mins later or something.

It is worth pursuing though as we've had no problems since.

but yours was of not recording, rather than recording but not playing back...

seems for the OP, contacting BT Vision is your best option

must be frustrating to know there were items recorded (and possibly not watched as you assumed it would be easy as pie to do so)

Thanks - will contact BT. Just wanted to check that I wasn't missing anything stupid before calling!
