Netbook logging me out even when I've ticked the box to remember me?

When I turn my netbook on it keeps forgetting me, I have to log back into mumsnet every time and BBC weather thinks I live in London.

I haven't changed anything as far as I know; what's gone wrong?

Which browser are you using?

Firstly check you are not in privacy mode. So in IE that would be "InPrivate" and Firefox is would be "Private Browsing" and Chrome it's "Incognito"

I'm using chrome, not incognito.

I had a look 'under the bonnet' and it's set to 'allow local data to be set'.

Now I'm really confused
