Your friend needs a virtual private network (VPN) which will assign her computer a UK IP address, thus allowing her to watch UK tv that is normally blocked to those outside the UK. Generally you pay a monthly fee to the VPN provider. Try this one to get an idea.

Does BBC America broadcast EastEnders? Not sure how far behind it would be though.

nm, I just checked and it isn't listed on their site.

Another idea - I am in Canada and Corrie is 10 months behind here. I get more recent episodes on YouTube, I just search Coronation Street and the date the episode was broadcast originally.

YouTube is certainly worth a look. A VPN will let her watch anything on iPlayer.

My Private Network rocks - I live in Thailand and use it to watch all manner of UK programmes

We have VPN Uk. It costs 5.99 a month but gives access to all the iPlayers and lets DH listen to live football on Five Live.

Wow thank you for this, I have looked at Expatshield which seems to be free - I am amazed (am in France and want to watch bbc iplayer).
