you might have to link to your router - you can do this via wireless settings

Really?

I thought it would be automatic as it was the more expensive one or have I mis-understood completely

Did your mum buy it through her own amazon account - does she share it with your dad?

No, it will link but my router is passworded, so the Kindle had to have the password put on it - once it is done, it is done

Are you trying to sort the Kindle there, for her? If so I'll try and talk you through

You probably need to put in the password for your wireless, otherwise, if it is the 3G version it will connect to the mobile network.

How is DD btw (not been around)

You don;t have to do anything except turn the wireless on with the 3g one.

It sounds you just need to switch the wireless on and it will link to 3G automatically

Wireless is on

I haven't had a prompt for my amazon password - I bought it & it is 'apparently' registered to my account

Could there just be no signal here?

So what do you want to do on it that you can't do yet?
(Forget amazon password for now - yes it will be OK on your account until you dad starts buying books on it lol)

Right OK - there's a few ways.

Easiest and quickest is to go onto your Amazon account online, buy some e-books and then when you switch your Kindle on, it will whispernet them on and be displayed

Order a free book and see what happens.
Glad your DD is ok :).
