there are holes in the leaves and there are black slimey things stuck on the back of them, they are small(fingernail sized) and look like slugs, not sure if there are or not. what are they? how do i get rid of them?
Lily beetles are bright red and very hard to find - they drop off upsidedown as soon as you go near them. It is easier to find their droppings - black slimey bits.Lily beetles used to be notifiable - not sure if they still are, but with stealth and cunning you can kill the blighters. Squash'em.
Lily beetle larvae they feed on the underneath of the leaf. The adults are big red beetles.
