Can I make my sad lawn look greener for Saturday or have I left it too late?

It's a sort of greeny-brown colour at the mo but we are having a garden party for DS's 1st birthday and want it to look a bit nicer!

Any ideas?

Pray for a thungerstorm to release nitrogen which will instantly green up your lawn.

Spray paint?

Sadly, rain isn't unlikely so maybe that'll work. Otherwise, I'll be purchasing that paint...

Thanks for replies!!

There are some lawncare tips here although I can't vouch for them.

I can't remember its name and haven't found it through googling, but there's a product which is advertised a lot on the telly, which you pour on or scatter over the lawn and it's supposed to make it greener within a few days. Could you go and look in a garden centre or DIY superstore?

We've got a similar problem ( dogs and children) and I'm going to try thiswhich is meant to work in three days

Water it for at least an hour every evening this week. It will make a difference.

Northernrefugee's link is the stuff I was thinking of (or something very like it).
