Has anyone ever bought one of those fruit tree offers from the papers?

Did they grow? and give you a decent amount of fruit?
This is dividing my mum and me, she says it's a waste of money and will never grow (I have no soil, am growing everything in pots, quite succesfully though)
I reckon, for £30, it will be worth it as we love all of them.

I need experienced advice!

You will need two kits of differently "gendered" fruit trees, as they need to pollinate eachother if you want actual fruits.

Am I right in saying it works out at £10 a tree? If so, b&q are around the same price or cheaper, and you get more choice as to your variety.

QS, What about people who only have one fruit tree though? My IL's have a pear tree that fruits every year but no-one else nearby has one. (genuinely interested BTW, not nitpicking!)
Thanks Filly, will scoot over to b and q tomorrow and have a look.

I have heard about self pollinating trees, maybe their pear tree is one of those?

This is a good point, op, you need to check if the trees in this orchard kit are self pollinating. Then they wont need another tree nearby to be pollinated by.
