Hi everyone,

I have a huge rose bush in the garden and it flowers more and for longer every year. It grown so big thats it sticks right out onto the path. My dad suggested I cut it right down and said it will grow back better. I'm unsure if he's correct - can anyone confirm? thanks you

depends what sort of rose it is. do you know if its a bush rose, floribunda, climber, rambler? do you know the name of the rose, I could look it up for you. generally though, roses do well after a good prune

Thanks spod - unfortunately I have no idea what it is - it was here when we moved on. Is there any way I could tell?

Crikey, I don't know either , but we've got a mass of rose bushes just outside our vegtable garden, and I've taken the plunge this year and cut them all back to about 3ft high,I do believe that they enjoy being pruned, but, Watch this space !
