Califlower and slug eat the califlower itself help!!!!!!

Put slug pellets down since the plants were young but still got nibbed but they were fine. Problem is now the califlower is growing the slugs have come back. Try to everyday look fo snugs in the plant and get rid of them. But they get right in at the cauilflower and the bigger one so far has nasty brown bits in it where the slugs have eaten it. I want nice big white healthy cauliflower not brown bit where the slugs have been.
