AIBU in thinking that i don't want my garden to be the buffet for the local ugly bug ball

So, its snails

Cabbage white caterpillars - bastards are decimating my cabbages.

Blackfly on my beans

have you picked out the tops of the broadbeans?

set your DCs picking caterpillars (my dd is generally more co-operative if we 'relocate' them to waste ground rather than squishing)

ditto snail picking (pet snail collection somewhere well away from the garden?)

we have done plenty of snail relocations, so will set DD on the caterpillars tomorrow

Why do i have to pinch the top of the beans, i was actually going to post and ask that? You read my mind

You pinch the tops out to stop them growing upwards, and encourage flowering. It also gets rid of the black fly!

The one good thing is that those insects will encourage birds and more friendly insects into the garden ...

did notice some ladybirds earlier which was interesting because they were mating and his little bum was wiggling like mad!! lol
