Mr Burns was the very sweet blokey in charge of the horticultural society

he was utterly charming to ds and insisted on posing for these photos

There wasn't much background info on the other thread, just that ds won first prize for his lettuces (there was not a HUGE amount of competition ) and won £10! He was so chuffed

FirenzeandZooey Fri 13-Jul-07 21:46:06

Lettuce is behind ds's head on the second photo

lulumama Fri 13-Jul-07 21:46:58

oooh franny, i thought that was a pot plant !

FirenzeandZooey Fri 13-Jul-07 21:47:36

Its lush foliage probably deceived you lulu

Cloudhopper Fri 13-Jul-07 21:47:50

How lovely. What was the gala/competition?

TheChamberofCarrots Fri 13-Jul-07 21:48:34

He is a very bonny boy! DD has just returned from the disco and is admiring his hair.

FirenzeandZooey Fri 13-Jul-07 21:49:44

It was a part of a local festival - the horticultural society had its annual show there and we thought we would enter two of the lettuces ds had grown. I didn't dream he would win but then I didn't dream his would be the only lettuce in the show

FirenzeandZooey Fri 13-Jul-07 21:50:04

Thank you his hair is utterly delicious isn't it

aww i am all soppy now, would love to have a nice little gardening companion.

Cloudhopper Fri 13-Jul-07 21:58:16

How lovely. I know how excited they get when they are young about growing something of their own and winning a prize just tops it all off.

Keep those photos!

Your boy is so, so sweet! Lovely hair, lovely lettuce, well done you. And him, of course.

lionheart Fri 13-Jul-07 22:09:31

LOL lionheart it is a Mooncup holder knitted for me by Pruni

I should have entered it at the horticultural show perhaps, along with the blue tree?
