Is a swing seat worth it in the UK

Hello, despite the freezing snow I am optimisticly dreaming of a nice summer. At the garden centre I was tempted by a swing seat as I have been in the past and dream of comfy beautiful seating. But husband says prob not worth it, more stuff we don’t need to cover up in winter and trip over etc and weather unlikely to mean will be used much. I think he is probably right but still tempted, does anyone have one and are you pleased you do? I am in the midlands, Thanks!

Yes absolutely. I bloody love mine.

Get 1 with a canvas/synthetic roof and sit under it in the rain its lovely. And dh sleeps on it in the summer if its too hot indoors.

Theyre great, everyone loves ours. Its really easy to keep too. Linseed twice a year (its a wooden frame) and just buy a cover for the wetest months. Generally we use it from March through to October and the odd nice day through the winter too.

I'm in Staffordshire.

Oh my goodness, yes they are worth it.

It’s the favourite thing in our garden.

And obviously, as soon as the sun comes out you have to go straight outside and make the most of it.

I wondered the same when DH wanted a summer house. We got one (ex display) this year and it's marvellous. Catches the sun, warms up inside and I've got a lovely comfy sofa in it for sleeping reading in peace.

Go for it.

I love them! Wish I had the space. I absolutely loved sitting on my Gran and Grandad's when I was a kid. My Gran was so little her legs barely touched the floor!

I love mine. In fact, when DS broke my last one last year, I didn't hesitate to buy a replacement straight away. It is the best thing in my garden. Even in Spring or Autumn, I drag a patchwork quilt out and sit on it.

Mine has just arrived...can't wait to use it. (Only not now, it's still a bit cold!)

Oh yes. I’ve had one on my wish list for a while. Our Dc are older now and this year we are removing the child swing and i’d love to have a swing seat.

What kind are you looking at? Is it the kind that can seat 2 or 3 and has a canopy?

We have a Brazilian hammock which we all fight over and it’s just fabulous. Lovely for snoozing.

We love ours! It's all wood with a pergola type roof. Best part of the garden so far

Love our wooden swing bench seat, bought it in 2000 and it's still going strong. Ours has trellis either side and clematis up over the top. No need to cover up/store in the winter with a wooden one.
