Does anyone have any idea why my Acer Griseum has these brown marks and leaf curl. Thanks

If it's in a pot, it probably wants a much larger one. Has it been frosted? or over watered?

I didn't know 'Griseum', but I see it's the 'paper bark' acer, so it wants a VERY large pot I would expect, or better still be in the garden:

Try and read up more about it, as it could be quite a spectacular tree.

Thanks for the reply. It is in the Garden with lots of other varieties of Acers which are all doing well. I bought it in Nomvember. I think it is weather damage. We had really hot sun in March, then continuous rain, then high winds and a then a frost. We are in London so usually Acers do really well here. I hope it has not done lasting damage.

I was wondering about putting it in a pot, but as you say it will need such a large one, so not really practical.

Acer griseum grows into a medium sized tree so would not be happy in a pot. In fact most plants do better in the ground, especially trees.

Has the tree got any new leaf growth? If it was the late frost that damaged it, it should be showing some signs of recovery now.

It is quite vigorous and does have some new healthy looking leaves emerging. The lower leaves, which have been protected from the elements, are quite healthy.
