You could buy one of those big plastic garden storage boxes. Or you could hang it up inside in an out of the way spot.

I bought one of those plastic storage boxes. Love it. It fits all sorts in and is totally weather proof. We can use it as a seat too.

Aldi are doing little hover mowers this week for £30.

It's worth spending a bit on a decent storage box, my first one was a cheapy, about £30 and it was very flimsy, leaked and got ripped to shreds in a storm. I now have two of the Keter ones as linked and they are sturdy, damp proof and so far (3 years in) storm resistant.

I think I would use two large black plastic sacks .You could always wrap the plug end up in an additional bag .

Or look at garden furniture covers -something like this or even one of these

If you're not already a member, then you could join local Freeshare or Freecycle groups online. I was a full-time student when my marriage broke down - so really skint, and I got a lawnmower for nothing from my local Freeshare (as well as a microwave, furniture, and all sorts of lovely stuff!).
