I impulse bought a little pot of these (already sprouting) yesterday. I planned to put them straight into the bed, but.....

The RHS say bulbs should go 4x depth, but if I did that I would smother the leaves.

Am I best to keep them in their pot this year, and put the bulbs in properly for next year? And if so, autumn or spring planting?

I'm keeping mine in the pot until they flowered and died down. Mostly because the beds not ready and I don't know exactly where they're going!

Feed them so the bulbs can replenish themselves. Let the foliage die down naturally and then replant at correct depth in the autumn
