planting out now?

I bought some plants from secret gardening club- perennials- now getting panicky about planting out as it as been so cold. They aren't plugs- they are fairly good sized- will it be okay to plant them out now?

What kind of perennials are they?

I think I would go the hardening off route . Its expected to be cold over the weekend, and it would be a shame to shock them .

They are lupins, oriental poppies, hardy geraniums and also some strawberries. Currently in unheated greenhouse

I'm starting to harden off some of my SGC plants aiming to take my time in the hope it will be a bit warmer in a couple of weeks.

Put them outside in the air, but in a sheltered spot, for a week to ten days and then plant out. (An unheated greenhouse will be getting hot this time of year - mine's already up to 30 C in the day, so you need to accustom them to cooler temperature).

They are all hardy and a good size, so they will be fine. You may need some slug protection around the lupins if you are on clay!
