Seem to have an elder tree appeared in my raspberry patch...

Should I leave it or (try to) get rid of it do you think?

It doesn't particularly look nice there and is taking up a lot of the space and also shading the raspberries, so I'm tempted to chop it down (don't think I could easily dig it up at the moment without killing too many raspberries).

On the other hand it does have flowers this year (never did before, which is probably why I didn't work out what it was) so I might get some elderberries from it I suppose, although I guess probably not many as it is not all that big. Is it likely to be worth keeping for that?

There are some random rose plants there too, not sure how they got there either but maybe I can replant them somewhere better!

We have an infant oak tree between our strawberries & raspberries. No idea where it came from.

Raspberries are so tough, I bet they could handle you digging the elderberry tree out in winter no problem.

Yes I think in the winter it should be fine to dig out! If it's not already too big to get out easily.. couldn't do it now though when everything is growing like mad. I already snapped a few off accidentally today when trying to tidy them up a bit as they've been growing crazily and I could hardly get down the path!
