Help me find a boundary solution which keeps everyone happy

Can anyone suggest a solution for this boundary issue?

The boundary needs teplacing.

I have a tiny garden and I hate big fences, I prefer nature to wood panelling. We already have 6ft wood panelling on one side. On the side bounding the neighbour in question, the fence is waist height and this suits me very well as it means there are lovely views of the hills from the gardens. In an ideal world I would keep the fence as it is, but I understand the need for compromise and I am happy to look at other solutions, as long as the view to the hills isn't totally lost.

My neighbours would like privacy and also for their boundaries to look the same, or at least be made from the same material. Ideally, they would like exactly the kind of 6ft wood fence i hate, but they seem really nice and are also open to compromise.

What would you suggest as a compromise? (I reckon 5ftor so is probably the highest you can go without losing the view).

How can we meet their need for privacy without losing my view and making me feel boxed in?

What would you use for the boundary?

Also, how could I soften my existing (horrible!) 6ft fence on the other side, and this one, if we end up with a fence, bearing in mind my garden is truly tiny?

Is there anything we use instead of those plain wood panel fences, does anyone have any other suggestions?

The boundary is co-owned btw (unusually) so we need to reach agreement.

Many thanks in advance for any advice :)

Willow hurdles look good & come in most sizes, they're a bit pricy though,as for the other fence, you could put some large mirrors or reflective metal to make the space look bigger.
