We have a biggish rambly weedy, mossy, scruffy woodland garden, which we fail to keep on top of blush It has some lovely Acers, maples and other trees which distract from the weeds mean it can look lovely in Summer and Autumn. The problem is we may need to put it on the market quickly (job change) so we really need to get it looking as good as possible as quickly as possible..
HELP! I know we need to cur back, trim and dig over beds, what else can we do to give it a bit more wow factor in early Spring?

If , a big if, the grass is not too wet, what about a quick cut? Set the blade at a high height and the garden will instantly look tidier. A quick hour to de-weed of the borders. Could put down some small bark chippings. Get some matching pots (terracotta/glazed) and fill with brightly primroses/ primulas e.g. yellow and purple or yellow with orange. Get up the leaves and sweep patios / paths etc. Good luck with the house sale.

Prune the bottom of any big ground level shrubs and clear the beds beneath them. Clear all the beds of leaves and weeds if you can, rake and then turn soil is quickest before pulling out as many weeks as possible.

You might still have time to get some bulbs in, daffodils and bluebells would suit a woodland garden beautifully.

A pretty little bird table to set it all off or is that step too far??

If you have a patio, see if anyone has a power hose you could use to give it a really good clean. Same for anything else looking grubby.

Definitely agree with a quick mow of lawn and straighten the edges if you can.

Thanks, great advice and loving the bird table idea, not a step too far grin pots would be great as we can take them with us and some bulbs too...
It's going to be a very tiring and bloody soggy weekend!!
